History of Drug Education

These kids would then tell other kids that the whole thing had been a lot of hype and drugs were really not all that bad after all. The kids might have then adopted a type of bravado thinking that all drugs were safe and they could use anything without it hurting them.
Once it was seen that this was not a successful manner of keeping kids away from drugs, a more apathetic approach was taken. Authorities decided that there was no way to stop kids from using drugs so the next mission was to teach kids how to be “safe” in their use of drugs. This was a total disaster from the beginning and did nothing in the way of actually preventing kids from becoming drugs addicts. Some of the youth may have been using drugs without killing themselves in the process, but addiction to drugs is still addiction and can have very grave consequences on a young person’s life. Some of these kids made decisions that ruined the rest of their lives. The misery could have all been prevented if that child had just never tried using. This method of education soon fell to the wayside as well.
