Club Drug Addiction Treatment

piolls.jpgSince the mid 1980’s young adults and teens have been going to underground dance parties located in various locations including old ware houses, barns, among others. These parties are called raves and the people who go to them are called ravers. Not all people who go to these parties use drugs, but a lot of them do. The main reason to go the parties is to get high on various substances and dance.

Popular Club Drugs

Most of the drugs used at these parties are usually some type of hallucinogen. At the parties it is very popular to use glow sticks and glow paint while dancing and the effects of these glowing devices are enhanced by the hallucinogen. The most popular drugs that are taken in this environment are Ecstasy, LSD, GHB, Ketimine, and Methamphetamine.

Ecstasy

The most popular of these club drugs is something that is commonly known as ecstasy. What most purchasers hope to get when they purchase ecstasy is scientifically known as Methylenedioxy-N-Methylamphetamine or MDMA. What these people actually get is sometimes hard to know. The drugs often have some MDMA in them mixed with other drugs as well. MDMA when taken by it self is known to cause stimulative and relaxant effects as well as causing a strong empathy for others and their situations. It causes the user to feel care and worry free and reduces all inhibitions. It can cause sever dehydration and over exertion in the user, mostly because the user does not notice the need to drink water or rest. It also causes brain damage, sometimes just after a single use. Brain scans of people who have used large amounts of ecstasy often show quite a bit of brain damage.

LSD

LSD is another popular rave or club drug. It causes both visual and auditory hallucinations. People sometimes say that they are able to hear colors and see sounds. The effects of this drug on an individual often vary depending on the mood of the user, the atmosphere in which it is taken and the people that the person is surrounded by. LSD is often very unpredictable in the way in which it will affect the user. People sometimes say that LSD can cause a very profound spiritual experience in them and yet it causes others to have severe anxiety and sometimes experience psychosis. There is no way to tell how it will affect the individual until the individual has taken it. LSD is taken by mouth usually in liquid form or on pieces of blotter paper soaked with LSD. After ingestion the person usually starts to feel its effects from anywhere thirty to ninety minutes later. People who have a tendency toward psychosis, may have it aggravated by their LSD experience. Other people say that the way that they look at the world is forever altered. Not many people have died from taking LSD itself, but some may have died due to the psychosis it caused. The Narconon LSD rehab program effectively removes the effects from LSD usage.

 γ-Hydroxybutyric acid (GHB)

GHB is a naturally occurring substance in the human body. It is used medicinally to treat narcolepsy, insomnia, clinical depression and sometimes alcoholism. It is sometimes also used as anesthesia. Illegally, it is used to get high and also as a date rape drug. In small doses it is reported to act as a stimulant and an aphrodisiac. It also decreases inhibitions and some say that its effects are similar to ecstasy. When used habitually, it can cause severe withdrawal in cessation of use.

Ketamine

Ketamine, often known as special K, is legally used as an animal tranquilizer or a tranquilizer for small children. It causes the user to feel a sense of disassociation with their surroundings and sometimes their body. It larger doses it can cause the person to go into what is known as a K hole. This experience is often compared to having a near death experience. Ketamine is very addictive and if taken in large doses can cause death. The disassociation that it causes in a person can be very alluring and coming back to reality may not be something that the user wants to do afterward.

Methamphetamine

Methamphetamine, also known as Meth, crystal, and many other names is a stimulant. It is sometimes compared to cocaine as far as feeling is concerned; however its effects last much longer. It is also said that meth causes a speedier and more edgy feeling than cocaine. Methamphetamine is very addictive and many people’s lives have been devastated by addiction to this drug. It also can cause severe psychoses in users from lack of food and sleep. It causes lack of hunger and fatigue in the person while they are using it and this can last for days if the person continues to do more of the drug.

Clubbing and Raves Can Cause Addiction

Young adults and teenagers often get sucked into doing drugs while at clubs or raves because they feel it will enhance their experience. Some of these people will get addicted to these substances and to the lifestyle that they are living. Most of these people are very young and it is quite unfortunate because it is such a waste of potential. Each one of these drugs has its own risks and dangers associated with it, including addiction in most. There is not a specific treatment centers that focuses just on club drug addiction, but people that are addicted to club drugs can go to most any drug treatment center. One very effective rehab treatment center that is often used is Narconon because its detox program is able to reduce and reverse physical cravings in the user. Club drug addiction can be quite serious and is not to be taken lightly. If you or a loved one are suffering from this addiction please seek help right away.

Newsflash

Alcohol abuse and dependency is a very severe problem in this country today. There are many Americans who are on the borderline with their alcohol intake, perhaps because the level of stress in the average American life has gone up quite a bit in the last ten years. People, who become addicted to alcohol, usually do so because there is some problem that they feel unable to handle in their life. Because of this they resort to alcohol to help numb their negative emotions and to get their mind off of their problems for a while. The thing is that when the person comes off of the alcohol, they no longer feel better about whatever it was that was going on; in most cases they usually actually feel worse.
When a person becomes an alcoholic, what usually happens is instead of the person finally getting to the point where they are like “Ok I need to fix this problem now and get everything together and get on the ball,” the person continues to try to drink all their problems away. This does nothing for actually fixing the problems that they are encountering; instead it usually makes them much worse and actually adds more problems to the person’s plate.
