This is the story of a man we are calling Robert. He was addicted to heroin for most of his adult life until he was went to Narconon Drug Rehabilitation and finally got clean. This is part four of this story.

He let his new girlfriend stay in his house and she watched his son for him most of the time. He also dated a few other girls simultaneously and rented them places to stay as well. He was making a lot of money. He met one girl and really liked her a lot. They had a lot of fun together, but she was very possessive. He said that he ended up having to break up with her because she did not want him to have anything to do with the children he already had. She said that she wanted him to have children with her but she would not feel comfortable doing so if he had to spend time with his other kids. They broke up shortly there after. Robert continued to date the three or four other girls and stayed in this situation for a few years.

 

Robert said that he stayed clean up until the point he was twenty eight. He said he would do cocaine occasionally and drink wine, but he was committed to staying away from heroin. One day when he was around twenty eight, he went to the strip club down the street. He would sometimes work as a bouncer there to help some of his friends out. While he was there he saw a girl that was working as a waitress. She was eighteen and had curly blond hair and big blue eyes. Robert was immediately smitten with her. He started talking to her and asked her if she would like to go out with him sometime.

 

Her name was Summer and she had heard about Robert from some of the other people that worked at the strip club. She knew that he was the leader of the drug ring and made a lot of money. She was very excited at the thought of dating him. She said that she would be happy to go out with him.

 

Robert quickly fell in love with Summer. He became obsessed with her and would not let her out of his sight. She in turn also came to be very obsessed with him as well for a time. When she found out about all the houses that he had with different girls staying in them, she said that she would leave him if he did not kick all the other girls out. He quickly did what she told him to do and even told the girl that was living with his son and her daughter that she had to leave as well. At that point his son then went to go live with Robert’s abusive father. He was around eight at the time.

 

 

Robert said that his relationship with Summer was very intense and he said that may have been the reason that he started using heroin again. He said that he was very much in love with her and would think about her all the time and worry that she might be sleeping with other men when he was not around. He said that one day he relapsed and it made him not worry about his relationship with Summer as much. Shortly after he started using again, Summer told him that she was pregnant with his child. Robert was very happy about it and bought Summer everything that she could ever want for the child they were expecting. Summer began to get moody with her pregnancy and she and Robert started arguing often. Robert said that he would leave her at his mom’s house many nights and go out and get high on heroin. Summer wanted more attention from him, but the more her pregnancy progressed, the more Robert stayed away. He said that he was still very in love with her, but the thought of having another child was really beginning to wear on him, especially since he had relapsed on heroin, and relapsed hard. He said that a part of him knew that he needed to quit so he would be able to provide a healthy and happy life for the child that was to be born. He said a part of him really wanted to do that and even marry Summer and have a normal happy family life with her. He said that he had never been in love with anyone the way that he was with Summer. He said that the part of him that was hooked on heroin would not let him do what he needed to do to have a good normal life.

 

 

Summer eventually gave birth to a big baby boy. Robert said that he looked just like him and Robert loved his new little one very much. He bought everything that a baby could need and much more. He doted

on his girlfriend and their child and said that he thought seriously about going to rehab to get clean. There was only one problem. Summer was very interested in trying heroin. She told Robert that she saw how good it made him feel and she really wanted to try it. She said that she had wanted to when she was pregnant, but she had not wanted to do anything to hurt the baby. Summer was not nursing so she justified the fact that she could do heroin with no harm to her baby.

Robert told her that he did not want her to try it because it would ruin her life. Summer told him that he had better let her try it and help her do it because she knew other guys who used it from the club where she used to work. She was sure they would be happy to shoot her up, especially if they thought she was going to do something for them.
