One Mans Tale of Addiction; Robert’s Story Part Three
This is part three of the story of a man we are calling Robert. Robert was addicted to heroin for most of his adult life and ruined many relationships due to his addiction. This is the story of Robert’s addiction and how he eventually went to the Narconon Program and got his life together and repaired many of the relationships that he lost.
The last that we heard of Robert he had just punched a police officer in the face. The cops then grabbed him and slammed him to the ground. They jerked his hand back and one of the cops stepped on it and broke two of his fingers. They then handcuffed him and put him in the back of the police car.
When he got to the station he told the police officers that were booking him that he needed to see a doctor because two of his fingers were broken. One of the cops looked at his hand and told him that he could set his fingers for him. Robert agreed to let him and the cop yanked on his fingers and they went even more out of place. As Robert howled in pain, the cop laughed and said “Sorry, I guess I didn’t really know what I was doing.” Robert then stayed in jail for the next six months for a violation of probation. While he was locked away, his girlfriend gave birth to his second son. When he got out again he moved back in with his girlfriend and their son. Within a year she was pregnant again, this time with a little girl.
Drug Ring is Temporarily Broken Up
Robert in the meanwhile continued to sell large amounts of cocaine and guns. He made a lot of money and continued his partnership with Tom. They also took another guy into their ring and we will call him Dom.
One day the three guys get a call from a potential customer that said that they were interested in buying a very large amount of cocaine. Tom was very excited about the prospect and told Robert that it seemed like a very good deal. Robert was very leery about the situation however and told his partners that he did not have a good feeling about it. He said that he would give them his blessing but he would have nothing to do with deal. This proved to be a good decision for Robert.
Roberts partners went ahead with the deal and then within two weeks the people called and said that they wanted more cocaine and also wanted to know if Tom and Dom could sell them machine guns as well. Tom and Dom said that they could and they set up a meeting with the men four days in future.
Tom and Dom met with the men and immediately got arrested because the supposed customers were DEA agents. Tom called Robert and told him what happened and warned him that all the property that was in Tom’s name was going to be searched. Robert went to a farmhouse that Tom had and got a very large amount of cocaine that the men had been storing there. Robert dressed up as workman so he would not be recognized. He took the cocaine and put it in a location that no body would look for it at and then went home. Within a few days the police showed up at his house asking him questions about his partners and he said he had no idea what they were talking about. They took him down to the station for questioning, but they had no evidence against him so they could not hold him there.
Robert’s partners went to trial eventually and they never told the police that Robert was a part of their crime ring. They both ended up getting sentenced to two years in prison and they never once ratted Robert out. Because of their loyalty to him, Robert would go to their houses once a week and give their wives money. He said that he never once stepped foot inside of their houses out of respect of the fact that his partners were in jail and he said that he did not feel it would have been appropriate.
Robert did get locked up a few months later for possession of a small amount of cocaine that he had on his person. He was still on probation and he got locked up for a possession charge and stayed in jail for a few months.
Robert Splits Up with His Girlfriend
When he got out he went home to his girlfriend and his two children. He went through his girlfriends things and found some notes from a guy. One of the notes said that he had really enjoyed going out with Robert’s girlfriend the other night. Robert knew the guy and instantly became very jealous and accused his girlfriend of cheating on him. She said that she didn’t, but the guy had given her money while Robert was in jail. Robert said that he knew she had cheated on him and said that he was moving out. Robert went to stay with his mom for a few months before he decided to buy a house on the same road where his partners had their homes.
After he bought a house he did well there for a while and actually had his oldest son move in with him for a while. His oldest son’s mother was very neglectful and Robert did not like that fact. It was not very long before he was dating another girl and she also had a child. He told her that she could move in with him and bring her daughter, but would she mind taking care of his son during the day while he was out working. She said that was find and they lived in that manner for a long while.
Robert lived this way on and off for a long time and finally his partners got out of prison. He continued to stay off of heroin for most of that time and made a good amount of money selling cocaine and guns.
