Narconon Drug Rehabilitation Talks About the Rising Cases of Prescription Drug Addiction

This is the story of a girl we will call Brandy. Brandy is not her real name but one used to protect her identity. Brandy grew up in is well-to-do family with parents that doted on her and provided her with everything that money could buy. Unfortunately, when Brandy was 13 years old she developed cancer in her ovaries as well as her uterus. She had to have a hysterectomy and she completely recovered. However, she lost the ability to naturally have children. She was also forced to go on hormone replacement therapy for the rest of her life. This devastated her. Brandy, as a little girl, had always imagined herself growing up and having two or three children and a loving husband. She says that she feels like she was born to be a mother but fate intervened and rendered her unable to do so. Because of this, Brandy says that she suffered from depression. A cousin of hers, who is her same age, started using drugs when the girls were 15 years old. They had always been very close and Brandy said it was not long before she was using drugs as well. Brandy said initially she did not get addicted to them but would only use them recreationally. Brandy was also very intelligent and excelled at school. When she graduated high school she went to college and majored in radio broadcasting and advertisement. She would continue to party on the weekends but devoted most of her attention to her studies. When she graduated college got a very good job at a local radio station where she made a lot of money. |

More and more individuals are suffering from addictions to prescription drugs. People who are not suffering from this type of addiction may be surprised to find out about the numerous different kinds of prescription drugs that people use as a way to get high. Many of these are quite addictive both psychologically, and in some cases physically. Below is a list of some of the most commonly abused prescription drugs that people use to get messed up: 
These days there is more and more stress and people have to do more and more just to accomplish what needs to be done to maintain their quality of life on a day to day basis. More and more families have both parents working outside of the home to maintain the American standard of living. While most parents have shown concern in monitoring their children's e-mail and Facebook accounts, recently studies have shown that this diligence may be more important than ever. Many parents may be concerned that their child might become stalked by child predators, but this is not the only thing that parents need to worry about as far as their child and the Internet is concerned. Some kids may be using their e-mail and even Facebook accounts as ways to set up acquiring drugs. If the child has a Facebook or e-mail account, it is important that parents demand that they have full access to these accounts so that they are able to fully monitor what activities their children may be involved in. Some parents may be tempted to use social media and the computer as a way to keep their children occupied and entertained.
Addiction has been the cause of much pain for many people since the beginning of human history. While the drugs that people are most commonly addicted to change throughout the centuries, the root and cause of addiction is still the same.
